Aztec Theatre, later Aztec I, II & III was located at 104 N. St. Mary's at Commerce Street. The theatre opened in 1926 and was the first atmospheric theatre in San Antonio. It operated until 1989. The original owner was the Hoblitzel's Interstate Theatre Circuit. The last owner was Maurice Braha. Jack Meadows and Tom Powers were the last managers of the Aztec. Tom Powers was a close friend of Big John Hamilton and that contact allowed me to take these photographs.
