The above photograph was taken by Gary Yantis and is the vacant lot, once the site of the Sam Houston (Star) Theatre.
The Sam Houston Theatre, later Star Theatre and after that Star Burlesque Theatre was located at 1821 N. New Braunfels and opened in 1941. It later closed in 1950. It was owned by Suburbans (Community) Theatre and sold to Hoblitzel's Interstate Theatre Circuit in 1942.
